GGOArchitects is the only “Green” or Sustainable Architectural practice in the North Texas area. We have been designing passive solar, high energy efficiency, environmentally efficient residential projects for over twenty years. Our homes have been recognized for outstanding energy efficiency and quality design work. Sizes range from an average size of 3,000 sqft to small 1,200 sqft plans and some as large at 7,000 sqft. All designs are passive solar and are typified by abundant natural light, energy bills that rarely exceed $1.50 per day, high indoor air quality, natural ventilation, indigenous landscaping, durable native materials and an appearance that relates well to the context of our region. Many of our designs feature photovoltaics, Geothermal cooling, active solar hot water systems, heat reclaimation systems, greywater irrigation, rainwater collection and other techniques that reduce or eliminate dependancy on external utility sources. Many of our clients have become friends of ours and welcome conversation about our work and about the high level of satisfaction they have for the homes we design for them. Additionally, GGOArchitects applies the same design philosophy to commercial and education projects as well. The firm has designed “green” schools, offices, restaurants, shops and retail stores.
The principal of the firm has been published in Texas Architect and numerous other publications on the topic of sustainability. Mr. Olp also speaks regularly on the subject of sustainability, indoor air quality and “green” building around the country. The practice is based in North Texas but is really working nationally with projects currently under construction in Silver Cliff, Colorado and Ribley, Maine. Our work has been published in D Magazine, Dallas Home Design, Innovative Home, O At Home Magazine, Dallas/Fort Worth House & Home, Dallas Interiors, and Luxe Magazine.
